OBIT MECK, KATHERINE GENTRY

MECK, Katherine Gentry, 75, of Marion, died Sunday, December 26, 1993, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Meck was a native of St. Clairs Community of Smyth County and was the sole surviving child of Levi & Nola Gentry. She was a registered nurse and a former Director of Nursing at Southwestern State Hospital. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Mervin E. Meck, Marion; four stepsons, Mervin Earl Meck, II, Atlanta, Ga., William H. Meck, New Smyma Beach, Fla., David E. Meck, Port Orange, Fla., and Stephen A. Meck, Tallahassee, Fla.; seven stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29 at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Tom Shockley and the Rev. Paul Sieber officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Chilhowie. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
