RAISING MONEY FROM THE ROOF

WPSK 107.1-FM raised more than $8,000 to benefit needy families during Christmas.

Headed by Rusty Clark and Ed Sherman, the station broadcast live from the roof of the New River Valley Mall for 36 hours this fall. Blue Ridge Cellular and the New River Valley Mall were co-sponsors of the event.

The money has been distributed to four United Way agencies to be used in Floyd, Giles, Pulaski and Montgomery counties. Each United Way office then gives the money to appropriate local agencies to use to help need families during the holidays.
