NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

GEORGE POOLE of Townside, Inc. Realtors has been Poole named 1993 Sales Associate of the Year by the New River Valley Association of Realtors.

Poole has been a real estate agent for 15 years and is very active in community efforts such as the Wilderness Trail Festival committee, auction committees, the Christmas Store and the local chambers of commerce.

\ BRIAN H. SMITH, investment representative for Edward D. Jones & Co. in Blacksburg, has been named to the All-American Team of The American Funds Group of mutual funds.

Smith was cited for outstanding service and excellence in financial counseling to investors in the Montgomery County area.

\ BILL MADDY of Maddy Realty in Christiansburg has been elected President of the 1994 Executive Board for the Southwest Broker Council of Century 21.

The RADFORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE elected new officers and directors for 1994. President is Jim Durham of New River Industries.

President-elect is Charlotte Shrewsbury of First Virginia Bank-Southwest.

William Merkt of Radford Community Hospital will serve as treasurer.

New directors are Stephen Dickens, Marcus Owens, Regina Robertson, Ervin Stauss, Dean Manor and Ray Hoyt.
