GRIFFITH'S OT EFFORT SPARKS GRAYSON WIN

Senior guard Shane Griffith scored all of Grayson County's six points in the overtime period as the Blue Devils outlasted Radford for fifth place in the Marion WOLD Invitational on Wednesday.

Griffith led Grayson County (6-1) with 15 points. Freshman Wes Self added 12 points, all 3-pointers and all in the second half.

The Bobcats led 28-23 at halftime but were outscored 14-8 in the third quarter. Radford led 16-15 in the fourth quarter but mustered only two points in overtime.

Casey Underwood scored 17 points for Radford, and Ricky Clark added 10. GRAYSON COUNTY (58)

Point guard D.J. Preston scored 35 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Warriors held off the Maroons for seventh place in the Marion WOLD Invitational.

BLUEFIELD - Jay Gray scored 26 points and Jacob Dews poured in 19 more as the G-Men beat the Rockets in the round-robin Graham High School Holiday Classic on Tuesday night.

Bland led 28-26 at halftime and scored the first eight points in the third quarter to take a 10-point lead. Graham battled back and took a 10-point lead in the fourth before the Rockets pulled to within three with 1 minute, 30 seconds to go. The G-Men spread the floor, forcing Bland to foul and sealed the win on the foul line. Graham sank 12 of 18 free throws.

John Nunley grabbed 14 rebounds for the G-Men.

Graham played Virginia High on Wednesday night, and Bland was to play Tazewell in the late game. BLAND (67)

MARION - Ricky Clark scored 14 points, including three 3-pointers, as the Bobcats beat the Maroons in the Marion WOLD Invitational on Tuesday night.

Radford outscored George Wythe 20-6 in the third quarter to turn a four-point deficit into a 10-point lead.

Ryan Brittle added 13 and Casey Underwood had 12 for the Bobcats (3-5).

MARION - At the Marion WOLD Invitational, Wes Self hit a free throw and Brian Boyer got a follow-up shot with 11 seconds left as Grayson County (5-1) edged Chilhowie in a consolation-round game Tuesday night.

Boyer finished with a game-high 19 points, two more than Chilhowie's Shane Olinger, Kenny Weatherman added 13 for the Blue Devils. CHILHOWIE (50)
