RICHMOND MAN CHARGED IN RAPE, SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES

A Richmond man has been charged with raping one Radford woman and sexually assaulting another while visiting a friend here earlier this month.

Theodore W. Whitford, 22, was charged Dec. 23 by Radford City Police after investigating complaints filed by two women, ages 18 and 19.

The 19-year-old woman told police she had been sexually assaulted on Dec. 3 by a man visiting Radford. She said the assault took place at a friend's apartment in the city's east end.

The 18-year-old woman told police she had been raped at the same address on Dec. 5. Both women gave the same description of their attacker, police said.

Whitford was released on bond. A trial date has not been set.
