EARLY MORNING FIRE HITS ROANOKE HOME

Fire caused about $25,000 in damage to a Southwest Roanoke home early Wednesday.

The blaze was reported about 2 a.m. at 550 Day Ave., according to Capt. G.I. Morgan of the Roanoke Fire Department.

The cause had not been determined. Morgan said the blaze apparently started in an upstairs bedroom of the two-story frame house.

Despite extensive damage, Morgan said the residents of the home were attempting to move back in Wednesday.
