AIDS MOLESTER ENTERS PLEAS, GETS 16 YEARS

A man accused of trying to give AIDS to nine children through sex pleaded no contest to reduced charges Wednesday and was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Adam Lee Brown entered pleas to three counts of sodomy and one count of reckless endangerment. He had been charged with 43 counts including attempted murder and rape and faced up to 300 years in prison.

Brown, 31, has AIDS, but none of the children has tested positive for the virus that causes the disease.

Authorities said Brown brought the children into his home in the summer of 1992 and plied them with drugs, alcohol and pornographic videos.
