\ PAM BERG HORNER, Accredited, Public Relations Society of America, and founder of the Roanoke-based Blue Ridge Chapter of the society, received a 1993 Presidential Citation at the group's national convention held recently in Orlando, Fla.
The award is presented to society members exhibiting distinguished service and outstanding performance in a leadership position.
Berg Horner was also elected secretary of the Mid-Atlantic District of the society at the convention.
\ INPRINT DESIGN AND PRODUCTION and PROGRESS PRESS have received awards in the 1993 Graphics Communication Competition sponsored by the Printing Industries of Virginia.
A 16-page full-color catalog and a four-panel full-color brochure produced for Roanoke Restaurant Service won Award of Excellence status, and the 24-page "Visitor's Guide to Downtown Roanoke" produced for Downtown Roanoke Inc. won first place in the "booklet, six by nine inch or smaller, web process" category.
The projects were designed by Inprint and printed by Progress Press.
Inprint also won second place in the "Individual Marketing Piece" category at the International Foodservice Distributors Association Competition for its full-color brochure promoting Roanoke Restaurant Service's beverage program.
\ LUCIAN A. DURHAM JR. and JOHN C. LANFORD, both of Roanoke, are among 16 "Eminent Engineers" graduates recently initiated into the Virginia Delta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at VMI, a national engineering honor society.
Selection to the society is based on lifetime accomplishments in the field of engineering.
Durham, a 1942 graduate of Virginia Military Institute, retired as chief engineer for the Norfolk and Western Railway Co. in 1980.
Lanford, a 1952 VMI graduate, is president of Adams Construction Co. in Roanoke.

\ THE SHERATON INN ROANOKE AIRPORT has received Chairman's Club Status by ITT Sheraton.
The hotel, owned by Roanoke-based Krisch Hotels Inc., achieved a guest satisfaction index placing it in the top 10 percent most improved of all properties with significant increases over second quarter results.
The index is based on the results of guest questionnaires evaluating cleanliness, maintenance, comfort, safety, food and employee attitudes.
