OBIT WHITE, MARY MARGARET

WHITE, Mary Margaret, 69, of Route 1, Box 219, Hiwassee, died Thursday, December 30, 1993, in the Radford Community Hospital. She was born in Snowville, Va., October 5, 1993, and was the daughter of the late Homer L. White and Lena Mazzie Dishon White. She was an active member of Snowville Baptist Church, where she taught the Ladies' Adult Sunday School Class for 30 years and held many other offices of the church. Miss White was a teacher in the Pulaski County School system for 34 years. She was also an active member of the Retired Teachers Association of Pulaski County and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Surviving are one sister, Mae Norris, Hiwassee; three brothers, Wendell J. White, Hiwassee, Burman P. White, Radford, Cecil W. White, Salem; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, from the Snowville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sammy Shoafe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Snowville Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
