WARREN COUNTY - The Wildcats pulled away in the second half to win the Northern Virginia Daily tournament over the Cougars. Tyrone Hash led Pulaski County (2-3) with 20 points, but it wasn't enough as Warren County scored 41 second-half points to post the victory. \

FAIRFAX - The Warhawks, ranked 18th nationally by USA Today, pulled away late in the semifinals of the girls' Book Jammin Holiday Tournament. Katie Smrea-Duffy led James Madison (6-0) with 25 points. Kim Cruise led Pulaski County with 20. The Cougars pulled to four down with two minutes remaining, but turnovers ended their comeback. \
Wednesday's game
\ Northwood 68, Christiansburg 67: At Marion, Jon Griffin's shot from the baseline with one-second left gave Northwood third place in the WOLD Christmas basketball tournament at Marion Wednesday.
Griffin led all scorers with 24 points. Before his shot, Christiansburg had rallied from 10 points down to take the lead. The Blue Demons were led by Denny Self with 19 points and John Hairston, who had 17 points including three of Christiansburg's six 3-point shots.
In the championship game, Abingdon defeated previously unbeaten Marion 65-51. \
