GOAT-MILK BILL GETS RAW DEAL

It's all over but the bleating for the Goat Lady: a Senate committee on Monday killed her bill to make it legal to sell small amounts of unpasteurized goat's milk.

Christine Solem of Charlottesville, better known as the Goat Lady for her tireless pushing of the bill, vowed after her defeat to pursue the legalization of raw goat's milk through the court system. The Senate agriculture committee voted 8-7 against her measure, which had been endorsed by the House of Delegates.
