JAMES C. STEPHENS of Roanoke completed degree requirements for a master of library science degree during the first semester at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

\ S. MARSHALL LAUCK, son of San Kimmer and Claude Lauck of Roanoke, was named to the fall's semester superintendent's list for excellence in academic, military and physical performance at the United States Naval Academy.

Lauck is a midshipman first class.

\ DAVID R. LAUCK, son of San Kimmer and Claude Lauck of Roanoke, has been named to the dean's list for fall 1993 at the University of Virginia.

Lauck is in his second year.

\ EMORY & HENRY COLLEGE has named several Roanoke Valley residents to the dean's list for the 1993 fall semester. They are: Heather Ammerman and Beth Blankenship, both of Roanoke; David Arnold and Jennifer Sparger, both of Salem; Annette Wizorek of Vinton; Robyn Mundy of Daleville; and Karen Sigmon of Troutville.

\ DAVID S. PERRIN, son of David and Dottie Perrin of Roanoke, has been named to the dean's list for fall 1993 at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

\ JAY C. GENTRY and MELINDA L. HAYES, both residents of Roanoke and students at Lynchburg College, will be included in the 1994 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

Gentry, a senior biology major, is the son of Carroll and Mary Gentry and a 1990 graduate of Cave Spring High School.

Hayes, a senior psychology and special education major, is the daughter of Jerry and Dorothy Hayes of Roanoke and a 1989 graduate of Northside High School.

\ SARAH ELIZABETH MOORE, daughter of Sherman and Sally Moore of Roanoke, will be included in the 1994 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

Moore, a senior English major at Longwood College, is a graduate of Cave Spring High School.

\ CHARLES WILLIAM SULT, son of Charles and Elizabeth Sult of Roanoke and the late Judy Taylor Sult, recently graduated with high honors from Trenton State College in Trenton, N.J.

Sult, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, earned a degree in sociology.

\ VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE has named eight Roanoke-area residents to its Dean's List for the first semester of the 1993-94 academic year.

They are: Danny Walker Felty, son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny W. Felty; Chad Neal Correll, son of Mrs. Linda Yates; Mark Q. Emick Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Q. Emick; James A. Donato, son of Dr. and Mrs. Antonio T. Donato; and Brandon Robert Cornett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cornett, all of Roanoke; Phetsavanh Xayavong, son of Sivilay Xavavong; and Robert T. Prince, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Prince Jr., both of Blue Ridge; and Bradley Thomas Yeatts, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Yeatts of Salem.

\ THE GENERAL JAMES BRECKINRIDGE CHAPTER OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION has named four winners of the 1993-94 DAR Good Citizenship Award.

The award is given to seniors and recognizes dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

They recipients are: Amy Suzanne Patterson, Lord Botetourt High School, daughter of Sandra F. Wrobel of Roanoke; Ryland Bennett Moore, North Cross School, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moore of Roanoke; Ellen Coley Harris, Patrick Henry High School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bayard Harris of Roanoke; and Betsy Jean Correll, Roanoke Valley Christian Schools, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Correll of Roanoke.
