MCLELLAND DIES

Bob McLelland, a sports editor for the Roanoke World-News who was known by generations of Roanokers for his pen, his gruff voice and his kind heart, died of cancer Thursday. He was 69. One measure of his influence will be the Bob McLelland Memorial Scholarship at Roanoke College.
