INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN SET TO SAVE THE TIGER

Eleven countries proposed Friday to save the tiger with a worldwide campaign to protect tiger habitats and stop poaching.

But China and Taiwan, both large markets for tiger bones used to make medicines and aphrodisiacs, did not send representatives to the meeting.

India is home to most of the world's remaining 7,000 tigers. - Associated Press
