MERCHANT MARINERS MAY HAVE TO TAKE DRUG TESTS

The Coast Guard is considering requiring drug tests for all merchant mariners when they apply for licenses or other credentials.

The Coast Guard is seeking public comment on the proposed rule until May 3. Comments can be sent to Executive Secretary, Marine Safety Council, G-LRA-2/3406, U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, 2100 Second St. S.W., Washington, D.C. 20593-0001.
