MICROSOFT, TCI READY PC NETWORK

Less than a week after announcing a partnership to test interactive cable-TV technologies, Microsoft Corp. and Tele-Communications Inc. said Monday they are preparing a cable-TV network for personal computer users.

The network, which could start showing up in viewers' homes as a separate cable channel in 12 to 18 months, is touted as a resource for the fast-growing number of consumers who have PCs in the home nut often don't know where to turn for information about them.
