Hall Associates Inc., a Roanoke-based commercial real estate broker, has won the contract to manage and lease the Jefferson Center - the former Jefferson High School which is undergoing renovation to house social, civic and cultural organizations.
Eleven agencies have leased a total of 33,183 square feet of the building's 43,709 square feet of office space. Hall said negotiations are in progress to rent another 3,800 square feet.

United Dominion Realty Trust Inc., Richmond owner of apartments and industrial property in Roanoke and Salem, said Monday it has registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a public offering of $75 million in senior unsecured notes. Proceeds will be used to repay short-term bank debt and to acquire additional apartment properties.
J.M. Turner & Co., Roanoke general contractor, has been awarded a $1,979,500 contract to build a 14,000-square-foot storage facility for Virginia Tech's library in Blacksburg. Architect for the single-story building is Glave, Newman, Anderson Architects of Richmond. Construction is to begin this month, with completion in October.
