JACK HIGGS TO TEACH CLASS AT NRCC

- Appalachian culture expert, humorist and author Jack Higgs will teach a three-part course March 14-16 at New River Community College.

Higgs' will focus on Conflict and Change, Culture and Custom, and Education, Literature and Literary Criticism. Registration for the course ends Friday, and space is limited. The cost is $12, and participants will be awarded 0.9 continuing education units.

Higgs - an English professor at East Tennessee State University - also will present a free lecture, "Appalachian Humor and American Ideals," March 16, 9 a.m., in 141 Godbey Hall.
