RESOURCE AUTHORITY GETS BEAUTIFICATION AWARDS

The Roanoke Valley Resource Authority has received two Keep America Beautiful/Keep Virginia Beautiful awards. Both of the awards - one on the state level and the other on the national level - recognizes the authority's efforts to promote the beautification of Virginia.

The awards also recognize the authority for the importance it placed on protecting the environment while planning and constructing the new waste disposal system, which will begin operation this spring when the Waste Line Express begins hauling waste from the Transfer Station to Smith Gap Landfill.
