HOLSTEIN CALF FOUND; ATKINS MAN CHARGED

A valuable registered Holstein heifer calf stolen Feb. 28 from a Wythe County farm has been recovered in Smyth County. An Atkins man is charged in the theft.

Joey Wayne Buck, 36, is charged with cattle larceny of the calf from the Don Heldreth farm.

Authorities also recovered a Black Angus that had been stolen in Smyth County. The animals were recovered from a fenced-in area in the Crow Hollow section of Smyth County, where Buck was living in a mobile home, said Wythe County Sheriff's Office Investigator Keith Dunigan.
