INTENDED VICTIM SAYS SHE PITIES BEAUTY QUEEN

A Greenbrier County woman whose family police say was accosted by a former Virginia beauty queen said she pities the woman.

Police say Tracy Lippard plotted to kill Melissa Weikle and her parents, Rodney and Carlynn, in a jealous fit. Melissa Weikle is eight months pregnant by Lippard's former boyfriend.

"I guess I feel sorry for her, because obviously something's missing with her," Weikle said.

Police say Lippard drove to Lewisburg on Feb. 27.

Upon arrival, Lippard told Rodney Weikle her car had broken down and asked to use the phone, police said.

"She was about 6 feet tall, just nicely groomed, like a sorority girl, with a headband in her hair, a blazer. You would have let her into the house too," Weikle said.

When Rodney Weikle wasn't looking, he was hit on the head with a hammer, police said. The former Secret Service agent and his wife subdued Lippard.

Police said Lippard had a 9mm pistol, a butcher knife, charcoal starter fluid and matches with her.
