W&L WOMEN BLOW OUT BRIDGEWATER

Lindsay Coleman scored nine goals to lead Washington and Lee to a 21-2 victory over Bridgewater in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's game in Lexington.

Coleman scored 17 seconds into the game and added seven goals before halftime as W&L took a 11-1 lead. She scored again early in the second half before coming out of the game.

The Generals (1-0), ranked seventh in NCAA Division III by Lacrosse Magazine, got four goals from 1993 All-American Angie Carrington and three from freshman Amy Shaw. Nicki Keeney score both goals for Bridgewater.

The Generals led 10-0 before the Eagles scored. W&L outshot Bridgewater 56-11.

Coleman's nine goals are the second-highest single-game total in school history. Lisa Dowling scored 11 in a game last season.
