GARDEN WEEK TO INCLUDE TOURS OF ROANOKE HOMES

Five homes and gardens in South Roanoke will be open to the public as part of Historic Garden Week in Virginia, April 23-30.

The tour, to be held Saturday, April 23, includes the homes of: W.L. Neal, 3203 Peakwood Drive; J.T. Davidson, 3128 Somerset St.; J.C. Parrott III, 3112 Somerset St.; G.F. Flippin, 401 Clydesdale St.; and C.B. Dalhouse, 308 Cassell Lane.

Members of Mill Mountain Garden Club and Roanoke Valley Garden Club, clubs affiliated with The Garden Club of Virginia, are hostesses for the tour.

More than 250 homes, gardens and historic landmarks across the state will be showcased during Historic Garden Week. Some 35 separate tours, expected to attract more than 40,000 guests, will be conducted during the event's 61st season.

During the last six decades, more than $5 million in proceeds from Garden Week have been used to restore historic gardens and grounds throughout Virginia.
