VOLVO WORKERS RETURN TO WORK ON DAY-TO-DAY BASIS

The contract covering workers at the Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. plant in Dublin has been extended on a day-to-day basis, negotiators for UAW Local 2069 and the company announced at 11:30 p.m. Friday.

The three-year contract was set to expire at midnight Friday.

The indefinite extension calls for workers to report to their regular shifts as scheduled.

A union spokesman said negotiations will continue.

The agreement covers approximately 1,100 workers.
