In Lexington, Nathan Shepperson's two-out, two-run homer in the 10th inning gave VMI a 6-4 victory over Furman in the Southern Conference.

Louis Napoleon led off the inning with a roller that was bobbled by shortstop Bryan Mahon. Napoleon stole second as John Payne struck out and went to third on Franco Martin's bouncer to the pitcher. Shepperson drove the first pitch he saw from Mark Kruthoffer over the center-field fence.

Billy Goodrich (3-0) picked up the victory in relief for the Keydets (9-5 overall, 6-3 in the conference). Furman is 5-10, 3-6.

In Radford, the Highlanders scored 10 runs in a fourth-inning rally that carried them to a 13-11 victory over North Carolina-Asheville in the third game of a Big South Conference series.

Radford (6-4, 2-1) trailed 6-2 going to the bottom of the fourth inning before the offensive explosion.
