Play begins at 9 a.m. and involves seven Timesland teams, including 1993 Group AA state champion Blacksburg and private school power North Cross.
The Knights open the jamboree, in which schools play two halves each against different opponents, by facing Lord Botetourt.
In the other halves, Patrick Henry meets Heritage at 10 a.m, Lord Botetourt faces North Cross at 11 a.m., Heritage takes on William Byrd at noon, Patrick Henry plays Christiansburg at 1 p.m, William Byrd faces Blacksburg at 2 p.m., North Cross meets Christiansburg at 3 p.m. and Cave Spring takes on Blacksburg at 4 p.m.
Admission for the jamboree is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
The Shamrock Hill Distance Run, featuring a 5K and mile fun run, will be held Saturday in Roanoke. The fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9 a.m. at Roanoke Catholic School, 621 North Jefferson Street. The fee is $15, and entries will be accepted until 30 minutes before each race.
