Patrick McHugh, corporate sales manager of the Roanoke-based building materials chain, said Moore's has a contract for about 40 truckloads of drywall. He wouldn't reveal the value of the contract, but said it is part of the $3 million subcontract awarded to Property Maintenance Corp. of Roanoke.
The drywall subcontractor is Double L, a South Carolina company, he said.
McHugh said Moore's won the bid over several local and out-of-town competitors.
Advertising for bids for conference center kitchen equipment began Thursday. Beverly James, a member of the Hotel Roanoke/Conference Center Commission staff, said the kitchen needs have been broken into three categories - millwork, fixed equipment and portable equipment - to enable small suppliers to bid on it.
Bids are due April 18.
