BREAK-IN CHARGES AGAINST PA. MAN

Blacksburg police have charged a Pennsylvania man with breaking into a house and stealing more than $14,000 in computers, stereo equipment and musical instruments.

Police said Daniel C. Herbert, 18, of Yardley, Pa., is being held in the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

The charges were filed after an investigation of a March 5 burglary at a house in the southwest section of Blacksburg, police said. The investigation took town police to Daytona Beach, Fla., where with the assistance of police there, Herbert was found on March 8 and taken into custody. Herbert was returned to Montgomery County on Thursday.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on six charges of breaking and entering and six charges of grand larceny on Tuesday in Montgomery County General District Court.
