CULINARY CONTEST AT CAFE

The Alleghany Cafe will host an Invitational Culinary Competition April 17 for professional and amateur chefs and cooks. Following are guidelines for the event:

One- or two-person teams

Entry fee of $5 per person

Each team to prepare an appetizer, canape or salad; entree; dessert

Food must be prepped outside Alleghany Cafe kitchen

Teams will have 20 minutes in Alleghany Cafe kitchen to prepare food

Each entry will be judged by number, not personal identification, by three local chefs

Prizes include cash, medals and other awards. The application deadline is March 31. For information and application forms, call Alleghany Cafe chef Jud Flynn at 639-6072.
