Kamm to direct Burrell

STANLEY B. KAMM has been named executive director of Burrell Nursing Center in Roanoke, an affiliate of Carilion Health System.

Kamm has been a vice president of Roanoke Memorial Hospitals since 1985. He was administrator at Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital in Woodstock from 1969 to 1985 and was assistant director at Roanoke Memorial Hospitals from 1961 to 1969.

Burrell is a 90-bed long-term care facility and has a unit for patients on ventilator support.

\ ADVERTISING

PAUL HEEBINK has been hired as sales manager by CableRep Advertising,a Roanoke-based company that sells commercial time on several cable networks in Roanoke, Salem and the New River Valley. Heebink comes to Roanoke from Bluefield, W.Va., where he was sales manager for WVVA-TV. Previously he was national sales manager for WEAU-TV in Eau Claire, Wis., after six years as a local and regional account executive at the station.

\ ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS

JOSEPH D. BISHOP has joined the staff of the Roanoke office of Dewberry & Davis as senior engineer. He comes to the firm from Nashville, Tenn., where he was president and branch manager of a civil engineering firm. Bishop was named "Young Engineer of the Year" by the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers in 1984. He is affiliated with the American Water Works Association, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Water Environment Federation.

\ BANKING

C. CHAMP CLARK, owner of C.C. Clark Farm in Chilhowie, has been named to the Small Business and Agricultural Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

\ COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

THOMAS S. BLAIR JR. has been appointed director of financial aid at Roanoke College. He has been assistant director of financial aid since 1989. The Roanoke College graduate previously was in sales with PYA Monarch, a Roanoke Valley food distributor. Before that, he was general manager of Mac and Bob's Restaurant in Salem.

\ ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

BENJAMIN P. JENKINS III, president of First Union Corp. of Virginia and First Union National Bank of Virginia, has been named the 1994 membership campaign chairman of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Asheboro, N.C., native came to Roanoke in March 1993.

\ INVESTMENT BROKERS

REYNOLDS G. LYNCH III has been named vice president at Scott & Stringfellow Inc. He joined the firm's Roanoke office as an investment broker in 1986.

\ HADEN DUDLEY, BRAD SNEED and ANGELA WEBB have been appointed investment vice presidents in the Roanoke office of J.C. Bradford & Co. The brokerage firm is based in Nashville, Tenn.

\ ORGANIZATIONS

LIN CHAFF, owner of Lin Chaff Public Relations and Advertising,and BYRON L. YOST, area president for First Union National Bank of Virginia, have been appointed to the board of directors of the YMCA of Roanoke Valley.

\ JIM PALAZZO, administrator of Consultants in Cardiology, has been elected president of the Roanoke Regional Medical Group Managers Association.\ BECKY DARBY, business manager of Parkway Physicians, has been elected treasurer, and CATHERINE "KITT" CUMBIE, administrator of Valley Nephrology Associates Ltd., has been elected program chairwoman. The organization is a regional association of professional managers of physicians' clinics and offices.

\ STEPHANIE L. BIRD, assistant director of admissions at Hollins College, has been named Young Careerist for 1993 by Valley Network Business and Professional Women's Organization.

\ REAL ESTATE

GEORGE OVERBY and JIM AILSTOCK have joined Deyerle Associates Inc. Realtors as associate brokers. Both are former owners of their own companies.

\ UTILITIES

HAROLD C. WISEMAN has been promoted to marketing and customer services\ manager for the Roanoke division of Appalachian Power Co. He formerly was line superintendent for the company's Huntington, W.Va., division.

\ WHOLESALE

JACK K. KENDRICK has been named general manager of the Nelson-Roanoke branch of Frederick Trading Co. and will be responsible for operations. He has 44 years' experience in sales and purchasing and previously was merchandise manager for the hardware distributor.

\ W. RUBEN TERRY has joined Petroleum Marketers Inc. of Roanoke as sales manager for Virginia. Terry previously was employed by Exxon Co. U.S.A. as account executive and petroleum engineer.
