MD. MAN KILLED WHEN CAR FLIPS ON I-81

A Maryland man was killed early Saturday morning when his car flipped into the oncoming lane of Interstate 81 in Wythe County.

Christopher L. Corpening was driving south on I-81 in the Grahams Forge area when he lost control and ran off the left side of the road, state police said. Corpening's car flipped and landed in the northbound lane.

Police said Corpening, 22, was taken to Wythe County Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Corpening was wearing his seat belt, police said.
