The Green Wave (13-9 overall, 1-1 in the Metro) used six home runs to whip the Hokies 17-6 in the first game.
Tech third baseman Bo Durkac blasted a three-run homer in the fifth inning of the second game. Left fielder Bryan King hit a two-run homer three batters later to give the Hokies (8-9, 1-1) all the runs they needed.
Fitzgerald picked up his second victory of the season against two losses.
In the opener, Tulane's Carlos Rodriguez started things with a solo home run, then Mike Escudier, Rodriguez and Brad Burckel hit consecutive home runs in the second inning to spark the rout.

Radford reliever Travis Toms played a key role in the Highlanders' Big South Conference doubleheader sweep of Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C.
Toms earned his third save of the season and tied a school record with the seventh of his career as Radford (9-6, 5-1) won 5-3 in the opener. Toms then came on in relief as the Highlanders came from behind to win the second game 9-8.
In Statesboro, Ga., Georgia Southern used dominant pitching to sweep a Southern Conference doubleheader from VMI (9-11, 6-5).
William Rushing struck out 14 in the opener as Georgia Southern (14-9, 5-2) won 4-0. Clint Fair struck out 11 in the nightcap, allowing two hits as the Eagles romped 10-1.
Jerry Dallas went 3-for-4, scored two runs and drove in three as Ferrum beat visiting Christopher Newport 10-7 in a Dixie Conference game.
