NORTH CAROLINA TOPS ODU 63-52

Charlotte Smith scored 15 points and had a season-high 16 rebounds before being ejected Sunday as North Carolina defeated Old Dominion 63-52 in the second round of the NCAA women's East Regional.

North Carolina center Sylvia Crawley also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Tar Heels (29-2) snapped Old Dominion's 18-game winning streak.

Old Dominion finished at 25-6, suffering its first loss since a Jan. 13 defeat at No. 1 Tennessee.
