PULASKI COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD TO HEAR BUDGET INFORMATION

The Pulaski County School Board will meet an hour before Thursday's 7 p.m. budget hearing to hear from Superintendent Bill Asbury on any new information on the proposed $25 million budget.

The School Board will begin its meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. The meeting and budget hearing will be in the county Administration Building.

After hearing public comments on the budget Thursday, the School Board will present the budget to the Board of Supervisors on April 11 at 7 p.m.

No increase in county funding is being sought for the 1994-95 school year. School officials hoped that increased state funding would provide enough money for the programs and initiatives outlined in the proposed budget, but it appears that the increases will still leave the school system more than $248,000 short for what it wanted to do.

Asbury and the staff will adjust the budget to fit the funds available, and the School Board will consider those adjustments during the hour before the public hearing.
