ASTEROID FOUND TO HAVE OWN MOON

An asteroid much smaller than Earth's moon still can have a moon of its own. Just take a look at Ida.

The first photograph of a tiny moon near the asteroid Ida was unveiled Wednesday at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It was taken by a camera aboard the Jupiter-bound Galileo spacecraft.

Galileo flew past Ida on Aug. 28, but the black-and-white pictures came to light only now because data transmissions were slowed by a faulty high-speed antenna.
