The spectacle drew harsh criticism from the mother of Amy Fisher, the girl Buttafuoco went to jail for having sex with while she was a minor. Roseann Fisher said: "The media attention attendant to the release of this convicted rapist is most disturbing. . . . He is a man who flaunts his indecency and disgraces his family."
