HOLY WEEK SERVICES at St. Paul Lutheran Church will begin with a 7:30 p.m. service on Maundy Thursday, March 31. On April 2 at 7:30 p.m., St. Paul and St. Philip Lutheran Church will hold a vigil service at St. Paul, 4909 North Lakes Drive.
Easter morning at 6:30, the two parishes will gather at St. Philip, 4040 Williamson Road, for a sunrise service. The major Easter morning service at St. Paul Church will start at 10.
A DEPICTION OF THE CRUCIFIXION, an annual Holy Week event at First Church of God, will take place on Maundy Thursday, March 31, and Good Friday, (April 1, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at 5008 Hildebrand Road N.W. The tableau features several members of the congregation.
GREATER MOUNT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH, 1810 Grayson Ave. N.W., will have an anniversary service in honor of the Rev. Antonio D. Thomas on Sunday at 4 p.m. Thomas began his ministry at the church a year ago. The Rev. S.B. Stevenson and the choir of Peaceful Zion Baptist Church of Martinsville will lead worship.
HOLYWIND, a Roanoke Valley gospel singing group, will perform Saturday at 8 p.m. at Grace Baptist Temple, 1527 Gilford Road N.W. An offering will be taken.
FIRST FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 1019 Gus Nicks Blvd., Vinton, will have a performance of the Easter pageant, ``Jesus: The Garden, the Cross, the Triumph,'' on Sunday at 6 p.m. The pageant includes portraits of those with Jesus on the days before the crucifixion.
Easter services on April 3 will be be at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.
