N. CROSS GIRLS FALL

Martinsville scored twice in the last 10 minutes to beat host North Cross 3-1 in a non-district girls' soccer game.

Samantha Ferguson led the Bulldogs (2-0) with two goals. North Cross is 0-1.

In Radford, Casey Underwood scored three goals - including the 50th of his career - as Radford (4-0) blanked George Wythe 7-0 in boys' soccer.

Chilhowie (2-0) took advantage of two errors and a walk in the fifth inning to edge George Wythe 7-6 in Hogoheegee District baseball. The Maroons' record fell to 2-1.

Dana Hurt was 3-for-3 with two RBI as Roanoke Valley Christian (2-0) overcame 11 errors to beat Chatham 8-4 in a Blue Ridge Conference softball game in Chatham. Jeremy Carter had three goals and Richard Lesko made 11 saves as Patrick Henry (2-0-1) beat visiting Campbell County 7-2 in boys' lacrosse.
