NAME SCHOOL FOR KIPP SISTERS

On May 3, the Montgomery County School Board will vote on a name for our new Blacksburg elementary school. I urge all of Miss Mae and Miss Florence Kipps' friends and family to write or call members of the School Board to encourage them to name the school in their honor. Miss Mae and Miss Florence devoted their lives to the students while teaching in Blacksburg High School. The Kipps sisters were never married, they were loved by all who came in contact with them. Miss Florence has passed away, but Miss Mae is living in a nursing home in Blacksburg. Mike Kipps, their only brother, is a retired professor. Mr. Mike also was loved and respected by all of the students he taught.
