WONDERING WHAT QUALIFIES AS ARMS

OK, let's review the situation now that the Brady Bill is law. Article II (1791) the right to keep and bear arms.

What are arms?

According to my Webster Dictionary it states that they are weapons; implements of war. I found this very disturbing to say the least. Anything that could be used to injure or kill another individual would be considered arms.

I just got off the telephone trying to convince some legislators to propose legislation for a 30-day waiting period for pipe bombs, letter bombs and molotov cocktails. I also think that archery sets, all knives, baseball bats, golf clubs, etc. should fall under the five-day waiting period. After all, the lawmakers should provide the utmost protection for the criminal element.

The law-abiding citizens will have to sweat it out and hope for the best over the next five days. I'll bet the criminals won't have to.\ Gary Spence Christiansburg
