IRONTO MAN, 18, DIES AFTER CAR ACCIDENT

An 18-year-old Ironto man died Saturday from injuries suffered when his car flipped at least 15 times Friday night.

Charles B. Taylor lost control of his truck after passing a tractor-trailer on Interstate 81 near the Montgomery County/Roanoke County line, a witness told state police. Trooper D.I. Compton said that although speed was not a factor in the crash, Taylor's truck flipped many times before it landed in the median strip.

Taylor, who was wearing a seat belt, was flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Friday night. He was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
