FBI HELPED INVESTIGATE 3 EGYPTIANS

The FBI cooperated with Danish police in an investigation of three Egyptians who may be linked to the World Trade Center bombing, a police spokesman said Sunday.

While investigating three Egyptian asylum seekers who were arrested for arson last November, Danish police found the name, address and phone number of one of the four men convicted in the bombing, a police spokesman said.

Four Muslim extremists were convicted March 4 in New York for plotting and carrying out the Feb. 26, 1993, bombing, in which six people died and some 1,000 were injured.

The FBI came to Denmark two weeks ago and stayed for two days to help the Danish police further investigate the Egyptians, said Villy Sorensen, deputy chief of police in Aarhus, where the Egyptians lived.

A Danish court has banned publication of the men's names.
