VIRGINIA NETWORK LEASES NEW STATION
Virginia Network Inc., a Lynchburg-based radio broadcast group operating
four Roanoke-Lynchburg market stations, including Roanoke oldies station WRDJ
(DJ 105, 105.3 FM), said Tuesday it has agreed with Scott Copeland of
Bethesda, Md., to lease WWFO (106.1 FM), a new Roanoke Valley station owned by
Copeland. Virginia Network General Manager Jack Alix said the company will use
WWFO to rebroadcast the urban contemporary programming it airs on WJJS (101.7
FM) in Lynchburg. The new station will broadcast from the same tower as WRDJ.
Alix said the station will begin operation in mid-April.
