SMITHFIELD PLANTATION OPENING FOR TOURS

Smithfield Plantation, the 18-century home of Col. William Preston, will open for tours beginning Friday. Smithfield Plantation is adjacent to the Virginia Tech campus. It will remain open Thursdays through Sundays, 1 -5 p.m., until Nov. 1.
