In Norfolk, D.J. Dozier, whose athletic career included professional football and baseball, has decided to enter the ministry.

"It was time for me to move on," Dozier, a former star running back at Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, told The Virginian-Pilot this week in a telephone interview from Florida. "The Lord spoke to me and said it was time to leave the endeavor that you have worked so hard for. And I left."

Dozier, 28, said he will begin training for the ministry at Rock Church in Virginia Beach.
