10-MILE WALK TO HELP MS VICTIMS IS APRIL 9

The Blue Ridge Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will hold its annual MS Walk on April 9.

This year's MS Walk Honoree is Barbara Green, a Roanoke Department of Social Services worker who has been active in the community for 16 years.

The 10-mile course for the walk will begin at Patrick Henry High School and will include rest stops and an accessible route for those in wheelchairs, families with small children or anyone else who prefers a less strenuous walk.

Walkers will raise pledges and are eligible for prizes. Proceeds raised by the walk will be used to provide support services for more than 1,100 people and their families in the Blue Ridge Chapter area and to fund research for the treatment and cure of the disease.

The Blue Ridge Chapter serves 45 counties in Northwest and Southwest Virginia.
