CVC urges residents to recycle phone books
New telephone books are being delivered, and Clean Valley Council is urging Roanoke Valley residents to recycle their old books.
Last year, 37,600 phone books were deposited into collection bins at Kroger stores. Mountain View Elementary School recycled another 20,000 for a total of 140,000 pounds of telephone books recycled in 1993.
This year, bins for used phone books will be placed in Kroger store parking lots, the Kroger Company's office on Peter's Creek Road, and the Cycle Systems/Clean Valley Council's community drop-off on Broadway Southwest.
For more information, call the Clean Valley Council at 345-5523.
