Glenvar 65, Northside 47: At William Byrd, Amanda Rydell scored 13 points, and Toree Morris added 10 as the Highlanders rolled past the Vikings in the William Byrd Tip-off Tournament.
Kim Ferrell scored 10 points to lead Northside (0-1).
Northside will face Rockbridge at 6 p.m. today, and Glenvar will play William Byrd at 7:30. \
Galax 61, Graham 51: At Hillsville, Tammy Cox scored 35 points and grabbed 20 rebounds as the Maroon Tide swamped the G-Men in the Cavalier Tip-off Tournament.
The contest was close until the final minutes. Cox sank seven of 10 free throws to lead Galax (1-0) to victory.
Angela Webb scored 20 points to lead Graham (0-1).
Galax will play Rocky Gap at 6 p.m. today and Graham will face Carroll County at 7:45. \
