NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

The Mid-Atlantic States Southwest District of Century 21 has honored three area sales associates with Sales Achievement Gold awards. SHIRLEE LOAN of Century 21 Maddy Realty in Christiansburg and BRENDA UNDERWOOD and BOB SIMMONS of Century 21 Old Virginia Ltd. in Blacksburg and Dublin were among the top 7 percent of sales associates in the district for the second quarter.

Robert Abraham, founder of Christiansburg Printing Company, has named his son MICHAEL ABRAHAM to replace him as president of the company. Michael has served as the company's general manager since August 1991.

Olver Inc. recently announced two appointments. TIM REED, formerly a quality control and assurance officer, has been promoted to environmental laboratory manager. DANIEL MARCH, formerly of the Midwest Research Institute in Durham, N.C., has been named manager of air programs.

Radford Community Hospital has named R. COLEMAN BRITTLE sales and marketing representative for the occupational health services program. The program provides wellness, prevention, rehabilitative and case resolution programs for area businesses and industries.

JIMMIE L. PARISH, a licensed professional counselor and certified addiction counselor, has joined Valley Counseling Services in Radford. Parish, who specializes in grief and loss, addiction and women's issues, provides services to individuals, families and groups.

BILL CALDWELL is a new member of the staff at Sherman's Men's Clothing in Christiansburg. Caldwell has been in the clothing business since 1967.

The newly elected members of the New River Valley Chapter of Professional Secretaries International are HOLLY SHANNON, president; CHERYL MATTRAU, treasurer; BRENDA HUSSER, assistant treasurer; and SANDY STEELE, corresponding secretary. Steele won the first-place award in a promotional display competition at the annual meeting of the Virginia Division of Professional Secretaries International in Alexandria.
