JOHN BOBBITT GETS 60 DAYS FOR BATTERY

John Bobbitt was sentenced to 60 days in jail Wednesday after a judge found him guilty of misdemeanor domestic battery in an assault on his former fiance.

Justice of the Peace William Jansen suspended 45 days of the sentence and ordered Bobbitt to begin serving 15 days in the Clark County Detention Center immediately. He was handcuffed and led from the courtroom by a bailiff.

``I firmly believe you have an attitude problem,'' Jansen told Bobbitt, who gained international attention last year when his wife cut off his penis. ``Your attitude problem is caused by your drinking.''

Jansen's sentence also included six months probation with the provision Bobbitt attend impulse control and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
